This recipe is simple, wholesome, and the ultimate way to celebrate pumpkin spice season!

Ingredients

2 cups whole milk (Can sub milk alternative, cream, half and half, or whipping cream)

2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)

1-2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (more or less to taste)

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice + plus more to shake on top

1/2 cup strong coffee or 2 shots of espresso

Maple whipped cream for topping. (Optional, but really adds to the flavor)

Instructions

Step 1 – Brew the coffee

1. Make 1/2 cup very strong coffee or 2 shots of espresso. Keurig coffee works too, but use a bolder blend.

2. Set aside coffee in a large mug.

Step 2 – Make the pumpkin spice milk mixture

1. In a small saucepan, combine pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice and milk.

2. Warm over low-medium heat whisking constantly to mix until the mixture is smooth and fragrant. Usually about 1-2 minutes. Do not bring to a boil or scald the milk. Remove from heat just before it starts to boil.

Step 3 – While milk mixture is simmering prepare your whipped cream. If you whip it in a stand mixer, you can whip while whisking. How fun!

Step 4 – Prepare your homemade pumpkin spice latte

1. Add 1/2 of the milk mixture to your coffee mug.

2. Using a spoon or milk frother, mix the milk mixture into the coffee.

3. Top with whipped cream and a dash of additional pumpkin spices.

Notes

Milk mixture is enough for two mugs. Any extra can be refrigerated in an air-tight container for a couple of days. Reheat when ready for another delicious pumpkin spice latte.
