Welcome!  I am so excited that you have decided to visit my REAL FOOD Learning Community.  I invite you to drop by and stay for a while.  This website is designed to be a place where busy folks of all ages can stop by to learn and share recipes and ideas on how we can keep getting healthy food to the table, while maintaining our busy lifestyles.  Some days it may not be fancy, but it is always striving to be REAL.  We are on a mission to prove that it is possible to live a REAL FOOD lifestyle instead of eating fast food even with a busy schedule.  We invite you to join the mission!

 

 

 A Little More About Our Family…………

My name is Christina Wiley and I am the mother of 4 children who span the ages from College to Elementary School.  They each have their own unique personalities, but they have one thing in common.  They are all driven to be active.  I fondly refer to them as my little over-achievers.  My college son then makes fun of me because I still call him “little”.  They are not happy being involved in one activity.  They actually keep score to see who is the busiest.  Let me tell you, it is not easy to keep up with these kids.  I’m sure a lot of you can relate.

 

 

Because we were always so busy, I let my family fall into some really poor eating habits.  We were always running from event to event so driving through the local fast food establishments seemed like a good answer.  Oh boy! Was I wrong!  My family gained weight and were slowly slipping into less than ideal health.  How could we keep up this busy pace, if we never had any energy?  As I approach everything, I did some research.  Out of this research my mission to provide my family REAL FOOD instead of fast food was born.  It hasn’t always been easy.  Even now, as this way of eating has become the norm, we constantly are finding new challenges to overcome.  The Juggling Act of keeping REAL FOOD in my family’s belly, while maintaining our busy schedule never ends.  This is the reason that I turn to my online friends for friendship, support, and advice.  I hope that I can be that to you as well.

The Mission…………..

 
We invite you to join us in our mission.  If you are in for the challenge, please know I am only a computer screen away.  This website will provide plenty of information and support for you to be a success.  We will walk you through our family’s transformation from Fast Food to REAL FOOD which really was a complete transformation.  You can check out The Real Food Experience Challenges to see the systematic approach we followed to make this transition.  We have changed what we eat, where we shop and what we thought of as healthy.  We were surprised to find out that many of the things that we thought of as healthy, were not healthy at all.  You may be surprised as well.

 

Make A Change…………..

As food is becoming more and more industrialized, it is important for us to really understand where it is coming from.  We should not merely accept that the food comes from the grocery store and therefore it is OK for us to eat.  We should all be informed consumers.  The food we eat today is NOT the same as when we were growing up.  Learn more about food and vote with your consumer dollars.  I refuse to let my family, friends and loved ones be the science experiments of the food industry.

13 years ago, I hit publish on my very first blog post. Back then, my kids were still young, and I was deep in the “mom life” of packing lunches, rushing to practices, and trying to figure out how to keep real food on the table without losing my mind. 🍎🥦

Fast forward to today, and here I am—a grandmother! 👵💖 Life looks a little different now, but the heart of this community hasn’t changed. It’s still about juggling the busyness of life, making space for the people we love, and finding joy in real food (and real moments).

I never imagined that this little corner of the internet would become such a special part of my life for over a decade. Thank you for being here—whether you’ve been with me since the beginning or just found me recently. You are the reason this space is still going strong. 💕
