Welcome back to Part 2 of Honest Answers From Kids. I know a lot of you are thinking that you might be able to switch to a Real Food diet, but are you still doubting that your kids will go along with a Real Food diet? I decided to interview my kids to show you that real children are able to make the change from a processed diet to a Real Food diet. Sure it’s easy, if you have always eaten Real Food, but what happens when your kids grow up on processed food and you change everything they know? I promised you that all children are not the same. In Part 1 I interviewed my daughter who likes to eat most everything. If you missed it, you can check it out here. She prefers fruits and vegetables over meats, but feels like she just can’t give up hamburgers………..or bacon. My youngest son, Lil C is very different in his food preferences.
He is by far my pickiest eater……….
But first……….Let’s get to know Lil C a little bit more. He just finished kindergarten and is 6 years old. He is extremely bright and loves to read books about dinosaurs and Power Rangers. He is always trying to figure out how things work. He loves swimming and playing outside. He plays baseball in the summer and flag football in the fall. He can’t wait to join his brothers in scouting when the school year starts. My little 6 year old is one of the proudest Christians I know. He will stop everything……….no matter where he is……….to make sure we all say grace before we eat.
Here is my interview with Lil C and his honest answers about switching to a Real Food diet.
Q: What do you like most about switching to Real Food?
A: The tastes change and it is really yummy………if you like it. ( I was pretty amazed at this statement. He is talking about how processed food all tastes the same and how Real Food all tastes different. Deep-fried food pretty much all tastes the same, but Real Food………even strawberry to strawberry is full of unique flavors. )
Q: What do you like least about switching to Real Food?
A: Sometimes healthy food needs to be cold for lunch and I don’t always like cold food. ( Mental note: use his thermos more for his lunches. ) I don’t miss any sort of foods because you make what I like. (Thank you sweetie. )
Q: Favorite Fruit?
A: Let me think…………bananas!
Q: Favorite Vegetable?
A: Let me think……..I don’t have a favorite vegetable. ( He really doesn’t like ANY vegetable. I keep trying. ) Wait! (Oh boy! did he think of a vegetable he actually likes?) Are cherries vegetables? I really like cherries. (Drat! Not a vegetable. Still………healthy real food……..I like that.)
Q: Favorite dinner that I make?
A: Pasta! And chicken nuggets. (Yes, kids love chicken nuggets, so make them healthy.)
Q: What dinner do you like least?
A: Cucumbers ( I don’t really make a dinner of just cucumbers, but it was fun to hear what he had to say about cucumbers. I don’t like one…….. single…….. part of cucumbers. I wish that there was no such thing as cucumbers. ( OK. I get it. He doesn’t like cucumbers. That is too funny because the rest of the family loves them. )
Q: What do you like about going to the farmers’ market?
A: Apples! I love to go to the apple farm. ( We live near an apple farm. It really made a big impression on him because it combines a food he loves and fun. )
Q: What is you favorite beverage to drink when you are really thirsty?
A: Does it have to be healthy Mommy? Just kidding…………Water! And guess what? The first letter of water is “W”. ( Isn’t he adorable? )
Q: Is there anything else you want to tell the Juggling Readers about eating a Real Food diet?
A: It’s easy to switch. You just have to try it. ( I couldn’t have said it any better. )
I hope you have enjoyed reading Lil C’s Honest Answers From Kids – Part 2. It is my sincere desire that you find motivation to make changes in your diet. If you are already eating Real Food, then I’m sure this is validation of that decision. Even small changes can have huge benefits to your health. Focus on small changes.
This completes the interviews with my little ones. Have you ever wondered if you could change your teenagers eating habits? Stay tuned……

I enjoyed reading the interview. Don't you just love the way kids say things?
Thanks for stopping by. I just love how kids speak the truth………in a really adorable way.
Cute!
I'm so lucky that my daughter has never been a picky eater. But she does still eat like a kid, and I think that's where adults get confused. That's not being a picky eater – that's eating what you like because your palate is still maturing!
Thanks for stopping by Stephanie. I hope you come back often. I agree that kids' palates need to mature. I never liked green beans as a kid and I love them now. The trick is to keep offering the items so that one day when the palate matures, they will have the opportunity to realize that it has changed.

Haha…LilC is very bright and he definitely knows what he wants, lol! Thanks for sharing the interview! Most people would be surprised that most kids really would like whole foods if they were given the chance to eat them. Thanks for linking up…have a wonderful rest of your week!
This was adorable. My kids have been eating this kind of diet since they were little so they like most foods and they are awesome veggie eaters…except my oldest doesn't like asparagus and my middle child asks for it on a regular basis. Drives me nuts because everyone likes it besides him! So usually I make two veggies those nights and they all disappear – I probably could do that every night. That said, they don't eat healthy all the time…but I try not too buy too much processed food. If its not in the house…well, they have to go to a friends house to eat it. Hahaha.
