Smoothie Competition Announcement – Juggling Real Food and Real Life

We love smoothies in our house.  They are a great way to pack lots of nutrition into one little cup.  I love that I can put fruits and vegetables into a cup and have a drink that looks quite a bit like a milkshake.  Smoothies make for great breakfasts or nutrition packed snacks anytime.  I even make them as desserts.

I’ve found that smoothies are a great way to use up my fruit and vegetables as they are getting riper than my

2013 Smoothie Competition

family likes to eat them.  I pay a little extra for organic fruits and vegetables……I can’t afford to throw them away.  Smoothies are a great way to reduce waste and turn it into delicious snacks. I also love that frozen fruit is available in big bags for a great price.  A perfect way to use frozen fruit is in smoothies. They are also quick and easy to make so they are perfect for getting the kids involved in the kitchen.

Since, I love smoothies so much, I figured many of my readers probably do as well.  With that in mind,  I have decided to host a Smoothie Competition.  Some of my favorite bloggers will be sharing their favorite smoothie recipes.  You and I can collect all of these smoothie recipes and give them a try.  The winner will be the blogger who collects the most comments at the end of their feature.  So……if you really like a blogger and their particular recipe, make sure you make a comment about it at the bottom of their feature.

The competition starts tomorrow, so make sure you check back each day this week for a new recipe.  I’m really excited to talk smoothie all week.  If you have a favorite recipe, I would love for you to share it here in the comments or on my Facebook page.

Make sure you get all of your friends to check out recipes from some of my favorite bloggers.  The winner of the competition will be determined by the number of comments that are left at the bottom of the post.  The winner of the competition will be featured in my sidebar.

This is a big deal for these bloggers so make sure you show them so love!

I love competition.  I can’t wait to get started!!

13 years ago, I hit publish on my very first blog post. Back then, my kids were still young, and I was deep in the “mom life” of packing lunches, rushing to practices, and trying to figure out how to keep real food on the table without losing my mind. 🍎🥦

Fast forward to today, and here I am—a grandmother! 👵💖 Life looks a little different now, but the heart of this community hasn’t changed. It’s still about juggling the busyness of life, making space for the people we love, and finding joy in real food (and real moments).

I never imagined that this little corner of the internet would become such a special part of my life for over a decade. Thank you for being here—whether you’ve been with me since the beginning or just found me recently. You are the reason this space is still going strong. 💕

Here’s to 13 years of memories, lessons, recipes, and laughter… and to many more ahead! 🥂

Drop me a comment and tell me how long you’ve been hanging out here—I’d love to know!

✨Long rehearsals = lots of energy!✨ Young danc ✨Long rehearsals = lots of energy!✨
Young dancers need more than sparkly costumes and strong muscles—they need the right fuel to stay focused and energized all class long. 💃🥗

Balanced meals with carbs + protein + healthy fats are the secret to avoiding mid-class crashes and powering through those long practices. And don’t forget water—hydration is just as important as the food they eat! 💧

👉 In Part 1 of my new series on Fueling Young Dancers with Real Food, I’m sharing simple tips and snack ideas to help dancers shine at the studio.

What’s your dancer’s favorite pre-class snack? 🍎🥜
