Juggling Real Food and Real Life Presents: The Grass Skirt Blog

Welcome back for our last finalist in the Juggling Real Food and Real Life Smoothie Competition.  I’m glad I’m not you.  So many good recipes.  How do you choose?  This last one isn’t going to make it any easier. Today, we have Erin from The Grass Skirt.  Being a blogger, I read a lot of blogs.  It’s kind of my thing.  I always like to read about the bloggers to see if maybe there is something we have in common.  When I first visited The Grass Skirt I noticed there were lots of posts on health and wellness.  That got me excited.  However, what I really connected on is that Erin shared she used to wear a button that said “Normal is Boring”.  I wore the same button when I was a kid!  Instant connection.  Stop by her blog and take some time to get to know Erin.

I’m Erin- a wife, new mother, and writer behind The Grass Skirt, a total lifestyle blog. I’m also certified holistic health coach with
a passion for all things related to wellness and nutrition. I started my blog
as a way to show how I maintain a healthy lifestyle and share my love for
beauty, organization, and family life.
I’m a massive Lionel Richie fan, and even though I’m health-conscious,
I’ve never met a cookie that I didn’t like! Follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and on Pinterest.  I’m so happy to be participating in Christina’s smoothie
competition today.

To put it mildly, I’m a wee bit smoothie obsessed.  But you can’t blame me for it.  There’s just so much to love about them!  Not only do they taste amazing, I find that
my skin is brighter, my hair grows more quickly, and I have loads of energy
when I drink them consistently.

 My love for smoothies runs so deep that I actually named my
blog (The
Grass
Skirt)
after my signature smoothie.

The Grass Skirt Smoothie

 

 

The Grass Skirt Smoothie

 Ingredients:
2-3 ice cubes

 

2 cups of spinach

 

1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk

 

1 scoop of vanilla pea protein powder, optional

 

1 tablespoon of ground flax seed, optional

 

½ cup of sliced mango

 

½ a frozen banana

 

1 teaspoon of coconut oil

 

½ cup of sliced pineapple

 

1 teaspoon of unsweetened coconut flakes

 

Dash of cinnamon

 

Stevia to taste, optional

 

 Put all ingredients in your blender, and blend until
smooth.  Drink cold and enjoy!  Makes 1 serving.
If you like pina coladas, this one is for you.  Even my beer drinking husband loves it!

blog about things other than smoothies too. I mean, I’m not that obsessed. 🙂
