One of the most fun parts about being a blogger is that brands are eager for us to try out their new products and share them with our readers. This post is sponsored by Yoplait and Yoplait’s Greek 100 Whips which is just now hitting your grocery shelves. I would like to say that all of the opinions stated here are my own, but that’s not exactly true. I’m including the kids’ opinions too. We had a really fun afternoon coming up with these quick and easy desserts to share with you.
As a real food blogger, you know how picky I am about the food I feed my children. I was thrilled to see that none of the Yoplait Greek 100 Whips include artificial colors. That is important to me……..even for desserts. The Yoplait Greek 100 Whips come in a variety of flavors including black cherry, blueberry, lemon meringue, raspberry, strawberry, strawberry cheesecake, tropical, and vanilla cupcake. This are not your typical Greek yogurt. They are light and fluffy like mousse, but still have the protein we love in our Greek yogurts. I worry more about nutrition than calories, but at 100 calories…….you can enjoy dessert without guilt.
Yoplait is offering a $1 off coupon here for all of my Juggling Real Food and Real Life readers to try the Yoplait Greek 100 Whips. You can also hop on over to their website here and check out lots of additional recipe ideas (super yummy) and they even disclose all of their ingredients. Gotta love a company that discloses ingredients on their website.
The kids and I decided to use the vanilla cupcake flavor of Yoplait’s Greek 100 Whips. We decided it was the one that most sounded like dessert. Since this yogurt is already sweetened there really is no need for additional sugar. I found them to be VERY sweet. These recipes are all single serving and easy to make in multiples for guests as well.
Recipe #1: Very Berry Frozen Yogurt
It doesn’t get easier than this. We used two ingredients….Yoplait’s Greek 100 Whips and a frozen berry mixture which included strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. Mix about 1/2 cup of frozen berries with a container of the Greek 100 Whips in your blender and serve. We garnished with dark chocolate chips to make it extra special.
The verdict: My daughter reports that “Oh my….. Mommy, this is soooo good! We need to make this all of the time.”
Recipe #2: Triple Berry Fruit and Mousse Parfait
This is another simple recipe. Start with chopped strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Stir in a drizzle of honey and a squirt of lemon juice. Place fruit mixture into your serving bowl and top with a couple of dollops of Yoplait Greek 100 Whips Vanilla Cupcake flavor. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and a few dark chocolate chips.
The verdict: We love fruit so any reason to eat more fruit makes us happy. the Yoplait Greek 100 Whips is really light and fluffy so makes for an exciting topping to the fruit. I really think it is elegant enough to serve to guests.
Recipe #3: Dark Chocolate Chip Mousse
Want a chocolate dessert? Simply toss a few dark chocolate chips in with your Yoplait Greek 100 Whips in Vanilla Cupcake flavor. No additional sugar or ingredients needed.
The verdict: Let’s just say that the boy who doesn’t like anything gobbled it up. He wasn’t thinking about the protein he was eating. He was just thinking about how “yummy” it was.
This sums up our afternoon of dessert making using Yoplait Greek 100 Whips. The kids really love it when Mommy is trying out dessert recipes and we had a lot of fun creating these together. I would love to hear what you come up with. Get in the kitchen with your kids and let your creativity take over. If you are not feeling creative……….go ahead and check out Yoplait’s website for lots of easy and delicious ideas and don’t forget to get your $1 off coupon before you head to the store.
Thanks again to Yoplait for letting me have a sneak peek at these Yoplait Greek 100 Whips. I can’t wait to hear what you create. And if you prefer…….don’t bother letting your family know that they are eating a dessert rich in protein. Just enjoy!
