Two days till Thanksgiving! Are you as excited as I am? I understand that the holidays can be hard on some folks…..especially if they have recently lost a loved one. However, I always like to try to focus on the positive. In fact, focusing on the positive is something I am teaching my Sunday school students to do with their prayer journals. It isn’t always easy, but I encourage them ( and you ) to take a look around and take note of all of the positives in their lives. This will look different for everyone, but we all woke up this morning and that is certainly a positive. We can all start with that one.
I am a person who likes to celebrate life every day…….so you can imagine how excited I get during the holidays! Family, friends, and lots of blessings to count. The fact that I write about real food means that there is food on the table. The fact that I complain about busy schedules speaks to the fact that I have purpose in life. Having to deal with multiple families during the holidays means that I have an abundance of love around me. For all of this I am thankful. My life is far from perfect and I’m really ok with that. It keeps things interesting, right?
If you have been following along with our Thanksgiving countdown, you should be well prepared for the holiday, even with your busy family schedule. Today, I just have two things for your to-do list. Grab the kids and/or your spouse and have fun in the kitchen together today.
2 Days Till Thanksgiving
1. Make your cranberry sauce. If you are looking for a new delicious cranberry recipe to try, you could try this one from Little Family Adventure or this one from The Hungry Belgian.
2. Make your pies. Don’t worry about baking the pies. Just make sure they are prepped. I am a traditional pumpkin pie girl. I just love it with maple whipped cream. My husband thinks there should be more choices. We are thinking apple or chocolate to go along with the pumpkin pie.
There you go…..2 tasks and you can get back to your life as previously scheduled. Easy peasy! Leave me a comment and let me know what flavor pies you will be serving this year. What is your all-time favorite pie? Or…..do you serve a completely different dessert for Thanksgiving?

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing my cranberry recipe. This year my daughter made something different, but I’m missing this recipe, so I’ll have to make it later this week.
