Real Food Real Life

Thank You!

I love Thanksgiving week.  Thanksgiving is just like Christmas, but with half the stress.  For our family, Thanksgiving has always been a day full of love and food.  This year will be a little different.  I have a grown-up child now.  It is so different to invite your child to an event.  It is reminding me not to take my family for granted.  Each moment should be appreciated.  Craziness and all!

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving brings with it the perfect opportunity to eat Real Food.  Turkey and stuffing in the oven and all of those sides.  Wonderful sides like green beans, sweet potato casserole and cranberry sauce.  And…………don’t forget the homemade pumpkin pie.  These are all family recipes that I have loved for years.  Thanksgiving is a celebration of food like no other day.

As I prepare to make some of my favorite Thanksgiving dishes, I would like to take this opportunity to give thanks.  I have a very blessed and full life.  All of the Juggling that I do is made possible because of the wonderful man that I married.  Without him doing dishes, sometimes twice a day and supporting our Real Food change, I’m sure I would not have lasted this long.  His love and support has allowed me to begin to heal my body with good food.  Feeling good is the greatest gift of all.

My husband and I on our anniversary

I also give thanks to my Parents, In-Laws, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins who have encouraged me to continue my Real Food change.  I appreciate the not-so-easy changes you have made as well,  so that my children eat in the way that they need to.  I appreciate more than you know, that apples are now being offered as treats.  I love my family even more for sending me healthy recipes and not trying to sabotage my efforts.  It is hard to make the change and it is so much easier with their support.

Apples

Last, but certainly not least, I would like to give thanks for all of my Juggling Real Food and Real Life readers.  You are my extended family and your comments on this blog, Facebook page, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram  keep me going some days.  I can’t tell you how many times, I want to just collapse into bed after a long day of activities and just send the kids to school with lunch money instead of making them lunch.  You keep me accountable and I thank you for that.  Each time I prepare a meal, I think of you and it has made all the difference.  Happy Thanksgiving from my Juggling Family to Yours!
 My family
Once again thank you for joining me here on the blog.  Make sure you subscribe by email at the right of the page so you don’t miss any posts.  I have a lot of awesome things coming the rest of this year and The Real Food Experience will be back for 2016.  Make sure you look for that announcement.  You won’t want to miss it! I also want you to know that you can email me at any time with questions at jugglingrealfoodandreallife@gmail.com.

🎉 Juggling Real Food and Real Life is officiall 🎉 Juggling Real Food and Real Life is officially a teenager! 🎉

13 years ago, I hit publish on my very first blog post. Back then, my kids were still young, and I was deep in the “mom life” of packing lunches, rushing to practices, and trying to figure out how to keep real food on the table without losing my mind. 🍎🥦

Fast forward to today, and here I am—a grandmother! 👵💖 Life looks a little different now, but the heart of this community hasn’t changed. It’s still about juggling the busyness of life, making space for the people we love, and finding joy in real food (and real moments).

I never imagined that this little corner of the internet would become such a special part of my life for over a decade. Thank you for being here—whether you’ve been with me since the beginning or just found me recently. You are the reason this space is still going strong. 💕

Here’s to 13 years of memories, lessons, recipes, and laughter… and to many more ahead! 🥂

Drop me a comment and tell me how long you’ve been hanging out here—I’d love to know!

✨Long rehearsals = lots of energy!✨ Young danc ✨Long rehearsals = lots of energy!✨
Young dancers need more than sparkly costumes and strong muscles—they need the right fuel to stay focused and energized all class long. 💃🥗

Balanced meals with carbs + protein + healthy fats are the secret to avoiding mid-class crashes and powering through those long practices. And don’t forget water—hydration is just as important as the food they eat! 💧

👉 In Part 1 of my new series on Fueling Young Dancers with Real Food, I’m sharing simple tips and snack ideas to help dancers shine at the studio.

What’s your dancer’s favorite pre-class snack? 🍎🥜
