Foodie Christmas Wish List Part 1 – Juggling Real Food and Real Life

Hummus is one of those foods that I’ve heard lots of people talk about.  I’ve even tried some store-bought hummus on a couple of occasions.  Since I am always in search of easy and yummy recipes, I kept running across hummus recipes.  Sounded easy, but I didn’t have a food processor in May when I started my new Real Food eating plan.  Why would I need one?  It certainly isn’t necessary when the Clown and The King are handing me my dinner through their windows every night.

As my search for great recipes continued, I kept running into recipes over and over that required a food processor.  I do have a mini food chopper so I used that to make some of the recipes I was looking at.  I made individual batches of banana “soft serve” and chopped ingredients for meat loaf one at a time.  It worked, but I knew I could be saving time if I had one of those beautiful, large food processors.

Then it happened…………………..

Food Processor - Great Gift for Foodies

My husband got me a food processor for my birthday.  I couldn’t believe I could be so excited about a kitchen appliance.  My 21-year-old self would think I was the biggest dork.  I can’t help myself.  I love it!  It has made my life so much easier.  I now can make batches of soft-serve for the whole family.  I can chop all of my meat loaf ingredients at once. I can shred blocks of cheese and have them ready to go for the week.  And best of all……………..  I can make hummus.

So, if you are looking for something to put on your Christmas list that will really help you Juggle Real Food and Real Life, then a food processor is it.  I’m telling you it really has helped me and like you………..I have no extra time to mess around with things that don’t help me out.  You can see the one that I use in my Juggling store.

And if you want to try my new favorite hummus recipe……..here is the recipe.  I’ve added the recipe to my recipe index on the main page.   I plan on making it a lunch staple for me, but I haven’t got the kids hooked on it yet.  Stop by Christmas Eve and I will have some on the table for the party.

I will continue with my Foodie Wish List in future posts.  Make sure you subscribe by email so you don’t miss the next one.  My list includes great gifts for yourself and your foodie friends. Leave me a comment and let me know if you are using a food processor and what your favorite recipe is.  Don’t forget you can join the conversation on Facebook, look at our boards on Pinterest and join the Real Food Revolution by following us on Twitter @jugglngrealfood.  Till next time…………Keep Juggling!
