Chunky Monkey Smoothie Recipe Your Family Will Love

Have I got a fantastic smoothie recipe for you today!  This Chunky Monkey Smoothie recipe is extra creamy and delicious.  Peanut butter, chocolate, and banana………..can you think of a more decadent combination?  I can’t.  My favorite part of this recipe is that there is no sugar added.  None!  Seriously.  The sweetness comes from using really ripe bananas.  This smoothie tastes like dessert but isn’t loaded with processed sugar and artificial ingredients.  Your kiddos are going to love this one too!

Chunky Monkey Smoothie

I’ll be honest………I’m not much of a morning person.  Recipes that I make in the morning need to be easy.  Maybe, that’s why I usually save my more elaborate recipes for dinner.  You know, when I’m more awake to cook.  This one only takes a couple of measurements and if you mess up a little, it will still be delicious.

Banana, Chocolate. Peanut Butter

The key to this recipe is the overripe bananas.  They add the sweetness and provide a really creamy texture.  I buy extra bananas each week. One bunch to eat and one to ripen.  Go ahead……..let your bananas get lots of brown spots on them.  You can see from my pictures that I let them get quite brown.  I won’t eat them that brown unless it’s in a recipe because I am a banana snob, but the browner the better for this recipe. Peel the ripe bananas, toss them into a Ziploc bag, and then place in the freezer.  Now, each time you want to make a smoothie you have bananas ready to go into the food processor.

Chocolate, Banana, Peanut Butter

These smoothies make a nice protein alternative to sandwiches in the lunch box.  Place them in reusable silicone tubes or freezable canning jars and freeze.  Simply pull from the freezer when you are ready to use in the lunch box.  The smoothie will thaw a bit and be good and slushy for lunch.

As a quick breakfast, lunch box meal, or sweet treat these smoothies can’t be beat.  Enjoy this easy-to-make Chunky Monkey Smoothie whenever you get a taste for something sweet, creamy, and delicious.

I drink smoothies just about every morning – and am going to try this! Breakfast is not my favorite meal to cook either!

That sounds delicious. Right now my smoothies (when I have the energy to make them in the morning) are frozen bananas, greek yogurt, a bit of honey or maple syrup, sometimes some oats or ground flax, and whatever other fruit we have in the fridge (usually melon – or if none I throw in frozen strawberries) My kids don’t like my smoothies but they may enjoy this one. I’ll give it a try!

This was awesome but I’m wondering is there a calorie count?? ….I’m trying to find something healthy to replace my daily “fancy” coffees🤗……and this is so far the best thing I’ve tried!!!😍😍 ….but I’m not sure it would be less?!?!?!…..can you help me?😁

I don’t really focus on calories. I’m more concerned about overall nutrition. That being said, anything made at home has to be less calories than “fancy” coffees. They are full of multiple sweeteners.

This recipe looks amazing, but I am allergic to bananas. Is there anything you would suggest substituting? I know avocado is usually substituted for the texture, but it lacks the sweetness. Would I be best off to use imitation banana extract?

You are right. Avocado is good for texture. You could add dates which also add some texture or honey for sweetness.

Of course all credits will be given to you and linked back to this page. I will not post the actual recipe, but only a small snippet from this page and one photo from here.
Hope that is okay with you. Thanks a lot 🙂

So good! Perfect for a chocolate healthy choice. I substituted Unsweetened Almond Milk and added a touch of honey for sweetness. We use natural peanut butter so there is no sugar in it.

Tried this and it’s pretty good! This is the first smoothie recipe I’ve seen with two bananas but all the other ingredients seemed about right for one serving. I only make for myself so I tried to halve it as best I could but it would be really helpful if you at least put “makes two servings” or something. Then people can determine how much it makes, whether to double, etc.
